Everlasting
Once God speaks, the word is forever, settled in heaven and everlasting. The only true word is God's word. All other words of men may later prove false but the word of God endures forever. How comforting that is! To know the Word is the very word of God and it will come to pass. If He said it, we can be assured that it is true and everlasting. Psalms 119 The word of God has been here forever and will last forever. Isaiah 40 The bible is full of metaphors and poetic sayings yet they are words of true and wisdom. To read and understand is to come alive. To ignore and cast it aside is to invite spiritual death. The word makes alive. It is living water that flows within the soul springing up into everlasting life. The word is a delight and a continuing treasure. Matthew 5 The prophetic part of the word will come to pass without one deviation. Every word, every sentence and every letter will come to pass. The Lord stays the same and never changes in spite of the trends and styles of mankind. We may change continually but God never does. If something was sin in bible days it would still be sin today. Matthew 24 The heaven and earth as we see and know it today will pass away. God will build
a new heaven and earth without sin. The word of God does not ever pass away even though
things we see now with our natural eyes will pass away. That is why we need to put our
hope and trust in that which is everlasting and not in material things which will perish. Peter the apostle assures us that the word lasts forever and that the gospel is preached by that word. We can develop a lasting hope and love for the word. It will bring us comfort and joy like no other thing can do.
