Fulfillment of the Word
1 Kings 8
56 Blessed be the LORD, that hath given rest unto his people Israel, according to all
that he promised: there hath not failed one word of all his good promise, which he
promised by the hand of Moses his servant.
57 The LORD our God be with us, as he was with our fathers: let him not leave us, nor
forsake us:
58 That he may incline our hearts unto him, to walk in all his ways, and to keep his
commandments, and his statutes, and his judgments, which he commanded our fathers.
When God gives His word you can believe it. It is us that forsake the word and go into
unbelief. It is never God who breaks covenants and promises.
Psalms 93
1 The LORD reigneth, he is clothed with majesty; the LORD is clothed with strength,
wherewith he hath girded himself: the world also is stablished, that it cannot be moved.
2 Thy throne is established of old: thou art from everlasting.
3 The floods have lifted up, O LORD, the floods have lifted up their voice; the floods
lift up their waves.
4 The LORD on high is mightier than the noise of many waters, yea, than the mighty waves
of the sea.
5 Thy testimonies are very sure: holiness becometh thine house, O LORD, for ever.
Take comfort in the words, "Thy testimonies are sure." Sure, steadfast,
believable and forever.
Psalms 111
7 The works of his hands are verity and judgment; all his commandments are sure.
8 They stand fast for ever and ever, and are done in truth and uprightness.
His commandments are sure. The one sure thing we have is the word of God. It is
forever. It is dependable. It is sure.
Ezekiel 12
25 For I am the LORD: I will speak, and the word that I shall speak shall come to
pass; it shall be no more prolonged: for in your days, O rebellious house, will I say the
word, and will perform it, saith the Lord GOD.
Just because in our minds fulfillment of the word seems to take forever, it doesn't mean
that the word is not coming to pass. God's timing is not always ours. He sees things in
light of eternity. If He speaks a word it will come to pass eventually.
Just because we haven't seen the Lord's return yet does not mean that His coming is
delayed. He knows the day and hour; we do not. It may be when we least expect it but He
will surely, literally come. Some have already explained away the scriptures concerning
the coming of the Lord to mean that the coming is spiritual and not literal. This is not
so. He will literally come just like he said. We do not have to explain away the
scriptures just because we think his coming is delayed.
Daniel 9
12 And he hath confirmed his words, which he spake against us, and against our judges
that judged us, by bringing upon us a great evil: for under the whole heaven hath not been
done as hath been done upon Jerusalem.
13 As it is written in the law of Moses, all this evil is come upon us: yet made we not
our prayer before the LORD our God, that we might turn from our iniquities, and understand
thy truth.
The Lord warned Israel through the words of Moses that if they turned away from Him and
committed sin, they would suffer much judgment and evil. It happened just as the word said
it would although many did not believe the warnings of the prophets and refused to repent.
It sounds just like the attitude today. Preachers preach and warn about hell and judgment
but it is ignored. Those type of preachers are made fun of and called preachers of doom.
Instead they would rather hear preachers that tickle the ear with jokes and feel good
messages.
Matt 5
18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall
in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
Luke 21
33 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.
34 And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with
surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you
unawares.
35 For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.
Romans 4:16
16 Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might
be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is
of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all,
The promises of God are sure. His word will be come to pass. Just because the world scoffs
does not mean that we have to change it to mean something else to please the scoffers. If
the bible says that Jesus Christ will come literally then that is how it will happen. Let
us not change to word to conform to our thinking. There are some that want to change the
bible into something that is more politically correct. I wouldn't pay 2 cents for a bible
such as that. We have no right to change it. It sometimes may not make sense to our way of
thinking but we must not be tempted to change it. Let it speak to us by the Holy Spirit
and then our understanding will come.
