WRITTEN TRUTH GIVEN SUPERNATURALLY - NOTE ONE

When the Bible speaks about scripture, it is talking about truth:

Scripture of Truth

But I will shew thee that which is noted in the scripture of truth:             from Daniel 10:21

Ye do err

Jesus...said..., Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures....                   from Matthew 22:29

Man's capricious notions, beliefs, and constructs may appear and then fade away in various seasons and times. Their durability, consistency, and truth are not guaranteed. In scripture, however, is set forth absolute truth, from the beginning of Genesis to the end of Revelation, with no contamination of error.

Do you believe that? History supports it, the Holy Spirit teaches it, and logic drives men to that position. Is the Bible your central reference for truth? Do you measure and calibrate all of mankind's propositions, doings, and beliefs by it to determine their veracity? The Lord Jesus said:

And have ye not read this scripture; The stone which the builders
rejected is become the head of the corner- Mark 12:10 -

God the Son verbally referred to scripture to prove a point, thus treating it as scripture of truth. And when Jesus was crucified, it was in accord with scripture, as scripture reports:

And the scripture was fulfilled, which saith, And he was numbered
with the transgressors. - Mark 15:28 -

When Jesus was taken into custody before His passion, He pointed out that "the scriptures must be fulfilled"(from Mark 14:49). What is going to come to pass according to the Bible does take place! The scriptures give truth about both what has taken place and what will occur.

Early in His earthly ministry, the Son of man also expressed the same type thing in a synagogue saying, "This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears"(see Luke 4:21). The remarkable flavour of the incident can be better appreciated by reviewing the quotation in context and the relevant portion of the Old Testament scriptures (see Isaiah 61:1,2).

The Old and New Testaments go together, they are both part of the scriptures of truth, and they both aid in the understanding of the other.
When Jesus "spake of the temple of his body" (see John 2 : 21 ) saying , Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up"(see John 2:19), all did not correctly understand what He meant . As the passage (John 2: 13-22) shows, some thought He was speaking of the Temple building in Jerusalem, but :

When therefore he was risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this unto them; and they believed the scripture, and the word, which Jesus had said. - John 2:22 -

Scripture of truth includes words of prophecy that the Son of God uttered when He walked the earth as perfect Man, and as is seen in such pronouncements as the one above (see John 2:19), can have a dramatic effect on someone when their meaning is made clear and proven. The "disciples remembered" and "believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus had said."

You can trust the scripture of truth! The God-breathed (inspired) Book the Holy Bible! Give it prayerful try, if you want to learn something of truly true-truth (that is, absolute truth with no admixture of error). It is to be understood as a unity where scripture explains scripture. It provides many benefits to the student. One of those benefits is made clear in the book of John where it is written toward the end:

And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book:

But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name. - John 20:30,31 -

The Way to everlasting life is found in the scriptures. God desires for you to have that life (see II Peter 3:9). Set your heart on that! Set your mind on the Holy Book of God, seek to learn what it teaches, seek His salvation, and endeavor to walk in obedience to the words of God.

There is much more to discuss about the scriptures of truth? Are you interested?
